Scott McCloud Reading
The article was really fun to read. I actually had to reread it in the beginning, because I realized I was reading it backwards. Probably because I read a ton of japanese manga. Anyway, really enjoyed reading the comic, although I felt some of the points were pretty obvious (but i read a lot of comics), such as the point made about how time can be expressed and shown in relation to how the eye observes each text and drawing. But seeing it in comic form made it more interesting, it was like you were reading a picture book with a textbook lesson incorporated into the pictures, instead of the other way around. Seeing all the examples and points made in such form made it an experience, so instead of imagining how it would be, you experience it yourself and see first hand how each technique works. In addition, there are cultural references and historical references that makes my mind seem more expanded. Sometimes I wish all textbooks were like this, but that would take up a lot of paper, sorry trees! lol
