Scott McCloud

The main point in the strip was the time issue. I have never been into comic strips so I had never payed great attention to the details, but the different ways that they portray time lapse is really interesting. My favorite one was the zoom out of a scene to create a long pause, but the one that can actually be applied in a stop motion is the repetition of an image.

When the comic talks about the reading directions, it mentions our customs of left/right, up/down; the only comic I can think of that is read differently is the Manga. Now in the strip it says that our limited direction of picture reading are to blame on our other forms of entertainment which don't provide options, this I have to disagree with. The Mangas are comic strips that are built just like the Japanese read and write, our comic strips are built just like we built and write; so is not that the other forms of entertainment are limited but is what our brain functions are use to. Our other forms of entertainment have been built around our form of eye direction not the other way around. Even though we aren't use to this I think it should be encouraged because it would make things definitely more interesting.
